Red Dog PokerHi! Glad you could make it to my site all about the cool game of Red Dog Poker! Here’s where you can get all the info you will ever need about this really interesting game. When I say interesting, don’t get me wrong, it’s not even very hard to learn, so you can basically sit right down at a red dog poker game, place your bet, and that’s it. I hope you’ll stick around to get the low-down on this game, because it’s sure a fun way to pass the time at a casino or online.Red dog poker isn’t even really a poker game at all, so the name is a bit misleading, but read on and I’ll fill you in. Red dog poker is more like Baccarat or even Pai Gow Poker (which isn’t really poker either), and really doesn’t have anything to do with poker, except that you use regular playing cards. Just like in Baccarat and Pai Gow the cards are dealt by the dealer, and whoever wants to can bet on the hand. But here’s the difference with red dog poker: there’s only one hand! The banker doesn’t get a hand to play against you, just the one hand and that’s it! Here’s the thing: red dog poker uses the idea of a spread. You’ve heard of a points spread before… like in a football game? …if not, you’re from another planet :) ! The spread in red dog poker means the distance between the two cards. So, for example, the spread from a 7 to a 9 is 1 and the spread from an 8 to a King is 4. Get it? It’s easy, just the number of cards that fit between the two that are dealt. That’s it! You just bet on whether the next card will be between the first two, and there you go! Now, lots of people may be thinking I’ve got some wires crossed or something, because this game I’m describing sounds a lot like Yablon. Well, that’s because it’s the same thing, just with a different name. You might also hear people talking about “Ace-Deuce”, “Acey-Deucey”, or “In Between”. These are all still the same game. I guess the name Red Dog Poker has more of a ring to it, don’t ya think? The only problem with that is that the old game called Red Dog was originally a game in which you’d bet on whether a card in your hand would be the same suit as and higher than a card dealt from the deck. And it was also called “High Card Pool”, with variations with names like: “Slippery Sam”, “Shoot”, and” Polish Red Dog”. So there’s a bit of confusion around the name of this game, but doubt me not! Red dog poker is a great time-passing game, for when you don’t really want to be concerned with thinking too much, or having to focus real hard on the task at hand. So stick around here on my site.
